Halloween Decoration Ideas for Restaurants, Cafés and Hotels
Published

Halloween gives restaurants, cafés and hotels a reason for guests to visit, stay a little longer and take photographs. A themed evening does not mean redecorating the whole venue. A clear entrance, a few well-placed props and staff in coordinated costumes can carry the idea.
This guide covers the areas guests notice most: the entrance, a photo corner, tables, hanging pieces and staff. It also shows how the plan changes between a café, a restaurant and a hotel.
Examples come from the Fantasy Creations Halloween collection. Some items can be bought, some can be rented and some can be either, so check the product page for the options on each one. Planning for a workplace instead? See the office decoration guide.
Venue entrance
Guests decide quickly whether a venue is joining in, and the entrance is where you tell them. A pair of pumpkins by the door, a hanging figure above the threshold or a short string of lights is enough.
Keep the doorway, any ramp and any step clear and well lit, and make sure decorations do not cover your menu, opening hours or accessibility signs.
Guest photo corner
Guests share photographs far more readily than they read posters. Put the corner away from the door and the service route so that people waiting for a photo do not block staff or other guests.
One clear backdrop and a few props are enough. Keep the lighting soft and warm, and give the corner a simple name or sign so that it is easy to find and easy to tag.

Decoration ideas by hospitality format
The same theme works differently depending on the kind of venue.
- Cafés: small tabletop pieces, a themed counter display and a chalkboard sign.
- Restaurants: themed menu cards, low table centrepieces and hanging pieces above the dining area.
- Hotel lobbies and lounges: a display near reception, a photo corner and softer, darker lighting.
- Hotel event spaces: lighting, hanging pieces and a clear photo area for an evening or a family afternoon.
Table decorations
Tables still have to work as tables. Keep centrepieces low enough for guests to see each other, and leave room for plates, menus and trays. A table cover, a small pumpkin or a glow-in-the-dark piece changes the look without crowding the table.
Keep decorations clean, away from open flames and heat, and out of food preparation areas. Nothing should sit directly on or over food.

Hanging decorations
Hanging ghosts and witches use the space above guests, which keeps tables and walkways free. Check ceiling height, fans, air-conditioning vents and staff routes before choosing positions.
Hang pieces out of reach and clear of food, drinks and service paths, and ask your facilities team about suitable fixing points before you start.

Staff costumes
Costumes lift the mood, but they should not slow service. Choose pieces that leave hands, feet and eyesight unrestricted. Capes, hats and headbands usually work better for staff than full-face masks, which make it harder to see and to be heard.
Browse hats and headwear, masks and costumes in the collection. In kitchens and around food, follow your own hygiene rules, and avoid loose fabric near heat.

Guest zones
Thinking in zones is easier than decorating a whole venue evenly, and it helps when families and groups of adults share the same room.
- Family zone: friendly pumpkins and ghosts, with nothing sudden or loud.
- Evening zone: darker lighting and skeleton or witch pieces.
- Photo zone: the corner described above, clearly signed.
- Quiet zone: little or no decoration, away from sound and motion pieces, for guests who prefer a calmer meal.
Promotional event ideas
A few simple ideas that venues use to fill a Halloween week:
- A small treat for guests who arrive in costume.
- A themed menu item or drink created by your kitchen or bar.
- A Halloween photo contest, with guests tagging the venue.
- A family afternoon followed by an adults' evening.
- A staff costume day announced in advance on your social channels.
Offers, dates and terms are yours to set; these are ideas to adapt to your own venue.
Sample restaurant setup
An illustration for a mid-sized restaurant, not a fixed package:
- Entrance: pumpkins either side of the door and a hanging ghost overhead.
- Dining area: low centrepieces, a table cover on each table and a string of lights along one wall.
- Over the walkway: two or three hanging pieces, out of reach.
- Photo corner: a skeleton or hanging figure with a few props, beside but not on the service route.
- Staff: capes, headbands and hats.
- Promotion: a themed menu card and a costume-entry offer.
Sample hotel setup
An illustration for a hotel with a lobby, a restaurant and an event space:
- Lobby: a hanging figure above the reception area and pumpkins on the desk, with guest routes kept clear.
- Photo corner: near lobby seating, away from the check-in desk.
- Restaurant or café: the table touches described above.
- Event space: lighting and hanging pieces for a Halloween evening or a children's party.
- Front-desk team: accessories such as capes, hats and headbands rather than full costumes.
Plan around check-in and check-out times, and follow the hotel's own safety rules for decorations.
Rent or buy Halloween decorations in Bangalore
Fantasy Creations sells and rents Halloween costumes, accessories, props and selected decorations from its stores in Bellandur and Whitefield, Bangalore.
Items differ. Some can only be bought, some can only be rented and some can be bought or rented. Where a rental price is shown it appears on the product; where it is not, ask us. Renting often suits a one-night event, while buying suits pieces you plan to bring out every year.

FAQs
Can restaurants and hotels buy or rent Halloween decorations?
Yes, for the items that offer those options. Some products can only be bought, some can only be rented and some can be either. The product page shows which options an item has, and our team confirms availability for your date.
Which decorations suit restaurant tables?
Low, small and easy-to-clean pieces suit tables well, such as a table cover or a small pumpkin. Keep them away from food and open flames, and leave room for plates and menus.
Can staff wear Halloween costumes while serving guests?
Many venues choose accessories such as capes, hats and headbands over full-face masks, so that staff can see, move and speak clearly. Follow your own hygiene and safety rules, especially in kitchens.
How do we enquire about several items for a venue?
Share your venue name, venue type, event date, approximate quantities, whether you want costumes, decorations or both, whether you want to rent, buy or are open to either, and your preferred store. Use the bulk quote page or message us on WhatsApp and our team will help you check options.
How do we look after guests who do not like scary decorations?
Keep a calmer zone with little or no decoration, away from sound and motion pieces, and avoid sudden lights or noises near it. Families with young children usually appreciate friendly pumpkins and ghosts over darker pieces.
